Start of Day Procedures

 The entire office relies upon the front desk to have a comfortable, clean, and working office ready for business.  The following list is a guideline that should be followed so that an orderly day will be the rule and not the exception.

Opening Procedures

- Unlock front and back doors

- Turn on all computers

- Turn on air compressor

- Turn on all x-ray machines and developers

- Turn on reception room television

- Turn on all DVD players

- Turn on accessory devices (i.e. space heater, fan)

- Open blinds

In addition:

  1. Public and office areas are tidy and neat
    1. All chairs are straight and dusted
    2. Magazines are straightened, old magazines are moved to the operatory holders
    3. Displays are neat, dusted, and all brochures and business cards are stocked
    4. Front desk is neat and is free of clutter
    5. Children’s area is neat and orderly 
  2. Vacuum public and office areas as needed
    1. Hallway, reception, staff, consultation, and office areas should be spotless
    2. Vacuuming in the morning allows the evening staff to leave the office on time

Start of Day Procedures

- Check answering machine

- Return patient calls immediately

- Print daysheet report for prior business day

- Prepare daily deposit for prior business day

- Copy daysheet and place in Dr. Kim's mailbox
